Closing Coordinators Checklist (Study this) 

  • Trash & Waste Management:

    • Take out all trash to the dumpsters, including:

      • Front desk and beverage station

      • Both downstairs bathrooms

      • Shampoo stations

      • Break room and office

      • Spa room and bathroom

      • Top of stairs bathroom and hallway

  • Floor & Laundry:

    • Conduct a floor check and vacuum throughout the salon as needed

    • Empty the hair vacuum

    • Catch up on towels: ensure no towels are left in washers and leave doors open to air dry

  • Bathroom & Amenities:

    • Double-check that all bathrooms (2 downstairs, 2 upstairs) are stocked with toilet paper, soap, and paper towels

  • Equipment & Utilities:

    • Turn off the air conditioner in the shampoo room

    • Turn off the ice maker and dump water to allow it to dry

    • Turn off any warmers, candles, or other appliances

  • Salon & Upstairs Lighting & Music:

    • Turn off music, TV, and lights in the salon, upstairs, and spa areas (including Sonos) if you are the last to leave

  • Doors & Security:

    • Ensure back and front doors are securely locked

    • Set the alarm system if you are the last to leave

    • Notify the last service providers that you are leaving

  • Cleaning & Organization:

    • Wash any leftover dishes

    • Review client messages: ensure all inquiries are handled or leave a note for the morning shift if follow-up is needed, so they can continue where you left off without confusion

  • Boutique & Retail:

    • Check that the boutique area is neat and fully stocked

    • Ensure no clothes are left in the dressing room

  • Financial Wrap-Up:

    • Count the drawer and complete the payout in the office, making sure the drawer balance stays around the normal $150
